About
Hello! My name is Erin Carty. I currently work part-time for some professional sports teams and radio stations in the Philadelphia area. I am an events coordinator for the Beasley Media owned Philadelphia rock station, 93.3 WMMR, and sports-talk radio station 97.5 The Fanatic. I am currently a member of the DOOP Squad (Promotions Team) for the Philadelphia Union for the 2024 season. I currently work as an extension of the Group Sales office for Comcast Spectacor, an American sports and entertainment company that own the Philadelphia Flyers and Philadelphia Wings. I was also a part of the game day promotions team for the Philadelphia Phillies during the 2023 season. A 2022 Media Studies and Production graduate at Temple University’s Lew Klein College of Media and Communications, I have had many opportunities to excel in creating content that has been used on different media platforms. Currently, I am seeking a full-time roll in either an entertainment or sports entertainment role.
One of my current roles is a part of the game day staff for the Philadelphia Phillies. There, I work with the Phillies front office to help with the entertainment that happens around the game. This includes setting up for sponsors visiting the ballpark, picking the lucky row, and assisting dance and anthem groups. Occasionally, I am launching hot dogs, throwing t-shirts to the crowd, and dancing with the Phillie Phanatic. I also help stage set-up with post-game concerts and with concerts that are happening at Citizens Bank Park.
In my other part-time role with WMMR, I have been grateful to work many remote broadcasts as well as represent the station at sponsored events. My role is primarily for the rock station, but I have had the opportunity to work for the other locally based Beasley Media Group stations, such as 97.5 The Fanatic, 102.9 WMGK, 92.5 XTU, and 99.5 WJBR. Before assuming this role, I was a broadcast production intern for the Radio Hall of Fame morning show, Preston and Steve. During my internship, I helped the show create and edit videos for their social media platforms, edit audio clips that were used during the show, wrote articles for their website, and create graphics for the show.
I have also had previous radio production experience with Temple University's student-run radio station WHIP, and Philadelphia jazz station WRTI. I was a co-host and producer for a daily radio broadcast on WHIP called The Wake Up Call, and was the social media coordinator for the station's entertainment department. While at Temple, I would also volunteer to be a production assistant and a videographer during WRTI's live studio performances. Along with my experiences in radio, I have had experiences and have won awards for the work I have done with TUTV, Temple's television network.
I was a part of OwlSports Update, a 30-minute student-run live broadcast that airs on TUTV. Through OwlSports Update, I have been given many opportunities to produce important stories revolving around Temple's athletic teams. I took on multiple roles such as controlling the audio board during live broadcasts, creating sports packages, and recording and editing game highlights. After working one semester with the production team, I was promoted to a senior staffing position of graphics coordinator for award-winning show Inside the Nest. This is a 45-minute student-run live production that focuses on Temple's football team.
During my time with TUTV, I have won numerous awards. I am a 2022 Mid-Atlantic Chapter Emmy Silver Pillar winner for Student Production for Best Production. I have won two IBS Awards for Best Sports Programing and Best Use of Graphics. I have also won second place at Temple University's Media Studies and Production Awards for Best Package Script and Best Studio/On-Site Production.
I have worked with other organizations to create sports-related content such as Maccabi Media, Philadelphia Sports Digest and Lafayette College. I was also a member of Temple University's Sports Media Society for Women, where I was the graphics coordinator and social media manager. I am also the PRO of my Gaelic football team, the Philadelphia Notre Dames Ladies Gaelic Football club.
I encourage you to explore my website to see the multiple projects I have done to create entertaining content as I continue to look for future role in production.
